Rospa event urges staff to be more safety conscious
Rospa Scotland is asking staff to get more involved in workplace safety, as it announces the date of its annual Occupational Safety and Health at Work Congress. This year, the event will focus on worker involvement, a key theme of the HSE's “Be Part of the Solution” strategy that was launched last year.
The event will be held on September 23rd at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel, in William Street.
The keynote address will be given by Shona Robison MSP, minister for public health. Speakers include Karen McDonnell, head of Rospa Scotland, who will present findings on new research entitled 'What Works in Worker Involvement'?
McDonnell said: “Events like this are a rare opportunity for everyone interested in the safety and health of workers to celebrate past achievements and to address future concerns.
“It is a chance for us all to share experiences and to develop new approaches, especially in the increasingly important field of worker involvement.
“At the heart of this year’s congress is the conviction that we all have an essential part to play in maintaining our own safety and the safety of others at work.”
